Thrills & Chills
Three things combine to make a great suspense: character, conflict and pacing. In this workshop, I'll discuss heroes, anti-heroes, and villains; how conflict works and how it doesn't; what stakes really mean; and how to use pacing--both fast and slow--to create tension. I'll also talk about the romantic suspense triangle, the market for thrillers and romantic suspense, and how to find your unique voice. The class will consist of weekly "lectures" and extensive Q&A.
