Terrorists from the Homegrown to the External and Homeland Security

Class Description
This course defines basic definitions associated with terrorism as we take a look at who becomes a terrorist. We will talk about the "homegrown terrorist" as well as some of the best known terrorist groups. We then discuss how the external terrorists enter the country, how they finance their activities, how they commit their acts of terror. Then we will discuss chemical and biological weapons, discussing various weapons, how they work, what they do, and their antidotes. Finally, we will discuss various aspects of Homeland Security, including how to tell if an audio or video tape from a terrorist is real. A US Terror timeline is included.
Instructor - Bio
Former Miss Chicago (Miss USA), Cynthia Lea Clark continued school, graduating from Northwestern University (multiple degreed), attended nursing school, and became a Firefighter Paramedic. After working as an actress in Chicago, she moved to Los Angeles where she worked on many television shows, such as DAYS OF OUR LIVES and STAT, while continuing her education with a Masters in Psychology and then a Doctorate of Psychology. While working on STAT, she was stalked which led her to work in Forensic Psychopathology. She has over 70 interviews with serial killers, mass murderers, etc. Today she mixes Forensics with writing and acting. Cynthia is a member of SF RWA and KOD RWA Suspense Chapter. She is also a member of ACFEI (American College of Forensic Examiners and Investigators), DOE Network, SAG, AFTRA, ATAS (Academy of Television Arts and Sciences), MWA (Mystery Writers of America), IFP, and the International Thriller Writers, Inc.
